River Severn

River Severn at Leighton Bridge just outside Welshpool. Three beats in conjunction with Crewe Amalgamated Anglers and one exclusive beat for Nantwich ANgling members.  A beautiful stretch of the Upper Severn in idylic Powys countryside.  Three upstream beats and one downstream beat are available.

Very meandering stretches of the Severn with good deep channels with gravel runs, superb water for both chub, barbel and trout.  A challenging water that is not a easy river to fish but the rewards are well worth it.  Barbel of 15 lbs and a 10lb chub were caught at Leighton Bridge in 2009.

Please see discount page for discounts available to our members at a local caravan/camping site with bunkhouse accommodation  less than a mile from these waters.
