First River Walk The first river walk took place when some of our members enjoyed a interesting walk around the River Weaver. We started off with tea and coffee and introductions and the walk lasted about three hours. It was good for members to be able to learn of new places to go fishing, where to car park and what each other had caught where. Richard not only talked about the river with regard to fishing, wildlife and history but also demonstrated with a depth finder the various depths to be found. People were amazed to find how the depth varied so much and in one place it was twelve foot.
Angling Legend Mick Brown visits Nantwich Angling Society exhibition stand at Stapeley Angling Centre
At a recent Stapeley Angling Centre open day, we had a exhibition stand showing details of our new waters for 2010 as well as photographs of the Rivers Weaver, Dee , Tern and fish caught. During the day we were visited by Mick who was astonished by what our local waters offerered and photos of fish caught and even more when we told him what our season tickets cost. He spent time chatting to people and having his photograph took and signing autographs. Here is Mick pictured on our stand with Chairman Richard and secretary Jan.
