Recognition Award
Picture at the Crewe and Nantwich Borough council Sports Awards on 24 November 2008, where Nantwich Angling Society received a recognition award for their contribution to sport in the Borough.
Secretary/Treasurer Jan Wilson picked up the award at the awards evening at Crewe Town Hall from the Deputy Mayoress of Crewe and Nantwich, Councillor Rachael Bailey.
The evening was organised by Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council to recognise sporting achievements in the borough.
As a Angling Society we were delighted to be recognised in this way and and it was fantastic to see a club like ours recognised. One of the encouraging factors was the numbers of enquiries that the council said they were getting from juniors wanting to start fishing.
I was a great evening in the council chambers and the opportunity to visit such a historic place and meet the mayor honouring the Angling Society was a great way of recognising the work and effort put in by all the members of the committee of Nantwich Angling Society.
